Selected work

Real projects built around real business needs.

My work ranges from business websites to public WordPress plugins and internal operational systems. The common thread is choosing the simplest useful solution for the job rather than forcing every project into the same template.

What I can help with

Build something new. Improve what you have. Create what’s missing.

You do not need to choose a plugin, platform or technical approach before getting in touch. Start with what the business needs to do; the technical approach comes afterwards.

Custom development and business tools

When the website or an off-the-shelf plugin does not quite fit the way the business works, I can build the missing piece.

  • Custom WordPress plugins
  • Custom WooCommerce functionality
  • Workflow automation
  • Internal dashboards
  • Reporting systems
  • Integrations and admin tools
  • Operational systems and purpose-built tools
Start with the problem

You do not need to arrive with a technical specification.

Most useful projects start with an ordinary business problem, not a technical brief.

“Our website looks old and nobody here likes updating it.”

That points to a redesign, a cleaner editing experience and a sensible handover — not a lecture about technology.

“WooCommerce nearly does what we need, but this one part is a pain.”

That could be a configuration change, a better plugin or a small custom feature. Replacing everything should be the last resort.

“We are copying this into a spreadsheet every day.”

That kind of repeated operational task can often become a proper workflow or an automated report.

“There must be a plugin for this, but none of them really fit.”

Sometimes there is. When there is not, a small purpose-built tool can be cleaner than stacking several compromises together.

Why Website Guy

Development informed by how businesses actually operate.

I came to WordPress development after years working in retail and e-commerce operations. Many of the tools I build started with a practical day-to-day problem: too much manual work, a plugin that almost fit, or a process that needed a better system.

That keeps the conversation focused on the outcome. I will use an existing solution when it is the right fit, adapt it when a small change is enough, or build something custom when that is the cleaner option.

No agency layers You speak directly with the person doing the work.
Practical scope Keep what works; change only what needs changing.
Commercial perspective Technology should make the business easier to run, not add complexity.
Post-launch support Handover, fixes and ongoing improvements can remain part of the project.

“Graham was recommended to me by a friend and he was efficient, effective and reasonably priced.”

Deirdre · The Cool Food School

“He doesn’t just build websites – he takes the time to understand your business and suggest practical improvements that genuinely make a difference. I never felt like I was being sold things I didn’t need.”
